http://www.anewday.ca/home.html

There is nothing I like better than New Age and Celtic music performed by an orchestra or an ensemble and the new album by Anewday fills the bill rather nicely. Their recording called Autumn Musings is chock full of haunting piano, lush strings and memorable compositions. The music is perfect for counting the silver of scudding clouds, observing the yellow of goldenrod fields and watching the ochre flurry of falling leaves. I was fortunate enough to first hear this music the day after the first thunderstorm of fall and the air was clear, almost sharp and the subtle changes of the season made their first appearance. The music was perfect.

The birth of Canadian duo Anewday is simple really. A chance meeting at a music store brought pianist Rob Miller and orchestrator Rob Huestis together. What they had in common, music, ambition and potential, would forge an alliance that was more than strong enough to produce great songs. Anewday was formed when the duo realized that they had enough music to fill an album. They also had common histories. Both had families that had deep musical roots. Both had classical training, but stretched their imaginations to embrace other genres and both share a passion for everything they do on and off the musical playing field. ----------R J LANNON, NewAge Reporter

Daro's passionate style and melodic inventiveness have been rapidly gaining him fans around the world, and his teaming with Ed Bonk of LAZZ Promotions has made "Dreams of Wind and Water" a staple on New Age radio playlists. His latest CD, "Beyond the Edge of Time" is a companion piece to "Dreams of Wind and Water", it still features the scintillating piano work of the "Dreams", but the songs also include hard-edged percussion, synthesizers, and a variety of world and ethnic instruments.

CONSUMER INFORMATION: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000HEVZXK/ncdn

On the third album in the series, he leads with his strong suit, the powerful, impassioned voice of Lisbeth Scott. She's been the featured singer with State of Grace since the first album, which no doubt led to her being the voice of John Debney's score to The Passion of the Christ. Over a chugging electronica beat, she intones the Latin hymn "Christe Redemptor" like a plea to a lost lover, recalling her performance on "Veni Redemptor Gentium" from the first CD. Scott shines throughout the album, including on the urgent plea of "To You" and the Abbess Hildegard-like strains of "Somnium." Schwartz has a good ear for the ancient, but perhaps it's beginning to sound antique even to him. That may be why the album sounds like such a hodgepodge of neo-gothic pop-classical romanticism. There are orchestral opuses ("Lux Aeterna") and a piano-violin duet ("Soledad"), gospel hymns ("Beams of Heaven") and pop songs that wouldn't sound out of place on a Celine Dion album ("Center of My Heart"). It tends to undermine his initial concept without providing a breakthrough into something new. --John Diliberto

Cliff Sarde, William Eaton and Randy Wood join Nakai on this beautiful album.

"When Nakai rides the waves created by Sarde, Eaton, and percussionist Randy Wood on "Dreaming Worlds," it makes you realize again why he's the Miles Davis of the Native flute, exploring new terrain, bringing the best out of his musicians, and creating cogent, centered solos. He's not only a defining voice on the flute, but he elevates anyone playing with him. Reconnections wires up new connections in R. A potent brew of vocalist, musician, songwriter, producer, arranger and teacher, he has extensive experience on the stage and in the studio. His goal is to share his gift of music, not only through his original compositions, but also by teaching others to explore their own musical abilities.

John's compositions have also been successful. He won the 1994 Billboard song contest (Gospel) for his original song "Give Me Two Wings," which along with several more of his compositions, later appeared in the UCLA Gospel Choir's debut CD. He penned several original songs on "Living Single" and in the hit musical Madame Lily, starring Gladys Knight and Dorian Harwood. His composition "God's Rainbow" is a favorite performed by hundreds of children in the LA District United Methodist Church's International festival of Choirs. The International Children's Choir recently debuted his newest composition "Dare To Dream" to an enthusiastic response.

(Consumer Information)
